How would you define your style?
DJI try to be as delicate and meticulous as possible in my work. It is a vision that has been formed from what I have been appreciating and adopting from the artists I have always noticed.
What concept did you want to put forward in your proposal?
DJI wanted to propose the Dipping Light from the lightness. I presented a mixture of the aesthetics of magazine ads from the 80s -recognized by a gradient of light that generates a sense of infinite depth- contrasted with stock images. In addition, I reinforced the importance of the lamp's levitating shadow.
What does the Dipping Light evoke for you, and how are you bringing it to the scenario you propose?
DJIt conveys to me the warmth of home. I have tried to capture this sense of intimacy and lightness in my images through a semi-reflective surface, and by leaving the Dipping Light as the center of everything.
Is there any feature of the Dipping Light that stands out to you?
DJIt is a lamp that does not go unnoticed; it is enough to see it once to remember it. It is an iconic object for its treatment between light and color.
