Ginger Lamp

Photographer and creative director, Nuria Val, explores nature within genres of lifestyle and travel. In this collaboration, we invite her to show us her favourite spaces and activities at home and how the transition of a day unfolds together with her Ginger lamp.

Nuria, you're a photographer with a take on sustainability with a Mediterranean soul. What do you enjoy the most about your work?
NVI work as a photographer for different brands and magazines, mostly about lifestyle and travel. In addition, I run the creative direction at ROWSE. I connect people to the planet through a new and more sustainable way of taking care of ourselves. But what I do the most is enjoy creating stories in front and behind the camera.
How do you get inspired?
NVNature inspires me the most. I get inspired by light, colours, harsh landscapes, sunrises and all the things that nature has to offer.
And how do you translate that into your personal spaces?
NVI love spaces that are made with creativity and personality. When it comes to home, I love cosy houses with natural light. I love having books, ceramics, and lamps that I love.
How would you describe your style and your spaces?
NVIt is hard to describe my style, but I'm very influenced by the Mediterranean. I love warm colours and lighting. My spaces would always have books, a huge sofa and an open kitchen.
Where do you spend most of your time?
NVI travel a lot for work, so I spend most of my time all around the world. Then between the ROWSE studio and my little house close to the beach.
What do you like to do besides work?
NVI love making ceramics, spending time in nature, and learning daily from my daughter Olivia.
Is there a place that you carefully created? Tell us about it.
NVYes, both spaces have been super carefully created in collaboration with amazing interior designers from Barcelona, Isern Serra and Conti Cert. Both are very different but carefully created to enjoy simple details, perfect lines and, most importantly, feel at home.
What about light, how do you light up your spaces?
NVLight is everything. In my work, the light is one of the most important things. So when it comes to lighting my spaces, it is essential to have the light that makes you feel comfy but is practical at the same time. Lamps are part of the interior design of the house and are objects that will accompany you during many different moments of your life.
What do you like about the Ginger?
NVThe design is exquisite. I love the lines, colour and every single detail that has been carefully created on this lamp. And what makes it even better is that you can take it everywhere. I love to spend time inside and outside the house, so it became a key part of our day.
Where can we find the Ginger lamp in your personal spaces?
NVGinger has already been part of a romantic dinner with my husband. It has also helped me create cosy lighting while putting Olivia to sleep and has been part of my outdoor Sunday reading after watching a beautiful sunset. And I'm sure there are many other amazing moments to come!
