Light Stories

What are you looking for?
NUI see myself as someone who builds narratives; through music, visuals, scent, and design. Whether I’m playing a set, creating content, or shaping the identity of a brand, I’m always exploring how to connect ideas and emotions. I co-founded and lead the creative direction of mid/night 00.00, a brand rooted in sensorial care. But more than titles, I’m interested in creative freedom and emotional resonance. What I’m looking for? Honestly, to do what I love and somehow stay happy while doing it.
Do your ideas come as sparks or as beams?
NUSparks that grow into beams. Something flashes a memory, a mood, a color and then I follow the thread until it becomes something whole.
What’s your favourite time of the day regarding light?
NUThat short window before sunset, when everything turns golden and soft. It feels cinematic, like the world is briefly under a filter of nostalgia.
Is glow something manufactured or something that radiates from within?
NUGlow is a conversation between the inside and the outside. You can enhance it, but you can’t fake it. True glow comes when you feel in tune with your body, your rhythm, your rituals.
Why is design important to you? What are your most precious objects?
NUDesign has the power to shift the energy of a space to make it feel intentional, warm, or even poetic. I feel very aware of the privilege it is to be able to invest in design. I don’t always have the time to browse second-hand markets or dig through vintage platforms, so when I do buy something, I look for pieces that truly transform a room. Like the Bohemia lamp from Marset it’s bold, sculptural, and it holds the kind of presence I want to be surrounded by.
What kind of emotion do you want to bring through music?
NULonging and release. I love music that builds tension, that hypnotizes but also opens something in you. I want people to lose and find themselves at the same time.
Do you perform differently depending on the lighting setup? Does light influence your dj sets?
NUAbsolutely. Lighting is like a second pulse on the dancefloor. A dark, minimal setup makes me go deeper and more introspective. Strobing lights make me lift the energy. Light cues emotion. I try to read and respond to it.
