Fashion consultant and designer Blanca Miró talks with us about her unique style, influenced by early inspiration at home and her love for blending colours, patterns, and eras. Her daily life is filled with creative endeavours, as she meticulously crafts spaces and ambiances through various projects. Blanca shares with us her seamless fusion of the Fragile lamp with her artistic vision and distinctive style.
Blanca, what do you do for a living?
BMI work in the fashion industry. I am a designer and co-founder of the clothing brand LA VESTE and the sunglasses brand DELARGE and I also collaborate with brands with which I feel identified and have a long-term relation. Working with them in different ways from creating content to help them as a stylist or designing a special collection in a specific moment.
As a fashion consultant and designer, how would you define your style?
BMI used to be very eclectic but within the years my style has changed and matured, nowadays I am a bit more relaxed. I still like to do all these crazy mixes but keep it elegant and real. I love to mix colours, patterns, and eras. I’ve always said I’m here to play with fashion and make it fun, so I created my own game.
What inspired you to become a fashion consultant and designer, and when did you first realise your passion?
BMI’ve always been inspired at home; I had the best inspiration. My mother is an interior designer, and my father has always worked in the automobile industry so even if they were not in fashion they were also interested in aesthetics and so am I. Also, my grandmother had a great unique style, I remember checking all her looks every morning and feeling amazed. I used to play in my mother’s closet and steal all her clothes, shoes, and bags since I was a little girl. She was the one helping me and giving me the first styling tips. Nowadays we can share everything as we are exactly the same size for everything, so she also steals my stuff!
Where did you find your inspiration for this proposal? What references did you explore, if any?
BMIt’s been super organic and easy. I have known the Marset brand for many years and I’ve always loved it, so when I had to do the shoot, the ideas came to me. I inspire myself all the time by following people I like on Instagram, with magazines, and any content that lands in my hands.
Could you share with us what the conceptual meaning of light is for you in your work?
BMLight is what makes the work shine.
What challenges have you faced as a creative working with natural and artificial light? How did you overcome them?
BMI’ve always loved natural light during the day but when the night comes, I love to turn on Fragile to keep it warm and cosy. When Fragile is on, I feel HOME. Same with candles!
How did light influence your artistic vision and storytelling for this collaboration?
BMI think that light is a huge part of any aesthetic and I think most of the time people undervalue how powerful a good light can be. For me, having iconic light pieces like Fragile doesn’t only light the space, but it becomes an artistic piece.
What does the Fragile express to you? How did you translate that into the scenario you propose?
BMFor me it’s exactly as the name says, Fragile. When I look at it, I feel delicate and the light it gives is beautiful and warm.
Which features did you find important to highlight about the Fragile?
BMIt’s a piece of art that elevates any space where you put in.
Blanca, how and where would you put the Fragile in your personal spaces?
BMIt’s a lamp that should be placed in a special corner, I would put it in the living room as it’s a space, where I spend a lot of time or in the entrance of the house, where you can see it first thing every time you come back home.
